Marko Sošić completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Political Science in Podgorica and his master’s degree at the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. He works as a policy analyst at Institut alternativa, Podgorica-based think tank, working on research and advocacy in the area of public administration reform and public financial management, with an emphasis on financial oversight, accountability and transparency. As a program coordinator at the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, he worked on the establishment of a parliamentary budget office in the Parliament of Montenegro (2016-2018). He has worked as an expert and consultant for the United Nations Development Programme, World Bank, Council of Europe and the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro on assignments related to public administration reform, state owned enterprises, public finance management and budgeting. For three years in a row (2020-2023) he has been the author of the Freedom House: Nations in Transit report for Montenegro.
